Milk thistle is generally regarded as safe (GRAS). Side effects are usually mild and may involve brief gastrointestinal disturbances (e.g., abdominal bloating, abdominal fullness or pain, loss of appetite, changes in bowel habits, diarrhea, dyspepsia, flatulence, nausea). Other reported adverse reactions include headache, impotence, and skin reactions (e.g., eczema, pruritus, rash, urticaria). Speak with a healthcare professional if you experience any side effects. 

If you are being treated with any of the following medications, talk to your doctor before taking HBS LiverProtect Silymarin Capsule: 

– Antipsychotics – Includes butyrophenones (such as haloperidol) and phenothiazines (such as chlorpromazine, fluphenazine, and promethazine) 

– Phenytoin (Dilantin) – A medication used for seizures 

– Halothane – A medication used during general anesthesia 

– Birth control pills or hormone replacement therapy 

Milk thistle may interfere with the following medications because both milk thistle and these medications are broken down by the same liver enzymes: 

– Amitriptyline (Elavil) 

– Diazepam (Valium) 

– Zileuton (Zyflo) 

– Celecoxib (Celebrex) 

– Diclofenac (Voltaren) 

– Fluvastatin (Lescol) 

– Glipizide (Glucotrol) 

– Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) 

– Irbesartan (Avapro) 

– Losartan (Cozaar) 

It should also not be taken with piroxicam (Feldene), tamoxifen (Nolvadex), tolbutamide (Tolinase), torsemide (Demadex), warfarin (Coumadin), estrogen drugs, glucuronidated drugs, or statin drugs. 

HBS LiverProtect Silymarin Capsule is not recommended during pregnancy or lactation as there are no published studies to establish its safe use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. 

HBS LiverProtect Silymarin Capsule can be taken on an empty stomach. This has the advantage of allowing the active agent, silymarin, to be more quickly absorbed into the body, therefore acting more rapidly and effectively. However, if you are experiencing any gastrointestinal problems, HBS LiverProtect Silymarin Capsule can be taken during or after meals. 

The general recommendation for adults is 1-2 capsules per day. For specific conditions, kindly consult your physician for proper dosage. 

HBS LiverProtect Silymarin Capsule has an expiration of two years from the date of manufacture if they are stored under proper conditions: at temperatures not exceeding 30°C, in a cool, dry place, and out of direct sunlight. We cannot ensure the quality or full potency of the product once it expires.  

If your product has expired, we recommend that it be discarded. Color change in the contents of HBS LiverProtect Silymarin Capsule does not mean that the product has expired or is not safe to use. Stability tests confirm that the product’s quality and potency remain the same despite natural color variations. 

Ang milk thistle ay itinuturing na ligtas sa pangkalahatan. Pwedeng inumin ang HBS LiverProtect Silymarin Capsule nang walang laman ang tiyan. Mayroon itong bentaha dahil pinapabilis nito ang pag-absorb ng katawan sa aktibong sangkap, na silymarin, kaya mas mabilis at epektibo ang pagkilos nito. Gayunpaman, kung may nararanasan kang anumang problema sa tiyan, maaaring inumin ang HBS LiverProtect Silymarin Capsule habang kumakain o pagkatapos kumain.
