Market Research Officer

Job Description

Job Purpose

  • Provide Consumer Insights and Intelligence related support to PC Market and Consumer Research projects and beyond.
  • The role contributes to the planning and execution of assigned research projects that lead to relevant, timely and actionable business results.
  • Under the supervision of a manager/director, the research executive will plan, organize and analyze organize Consumer Insights and Analytics cross-functional projects and develop consumer-centric strategies in response to and in anticipation of the business needs and opportunities.
  • Part of the role is monitor, analyze, and report to stakeholders the different external market factors and trends and give insights on how they will impact the business.
  • The role will also monitor new product launches and major activities of competitors.
  • The role will also involve working closely with R&D, Strategic Product Innovation, and other internal and external stakeholders to drive projects.
  • The role may involve working on volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous projects that requires innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop research briefs that are aligned with business strategies
  • Lead the timely execution of all consumer tests in assigned projects with minimal supervision
  • Lead the analysis of all consumer tests in assigned projects
  • Recommend next steps in assigned projects
  • Represent CIA in cross-functional project teams and help provide consumer learning plans and directions
  • Collaborate with research vendors in assigned projects
  • Support the establishment of a consumer-centric culture in the CIA organization
  • Monitor external factors in the Macroenvironment that may have an impact on the organization.
  • Monitor major competitor activities and new product launches
  • In coordination with the Data Scientists, find out the product trends that are gaining traction in the market
  • Other projects that maybe assigned by the manager
Qualifications

Job Specifications

  • Degree in statistics, research, social sciences or any related course
  • Minimum 2 – 4 years of relevant experience in the field of consumer research
  • At least intermediate level in quantitative analysis and report writing
  • Market intelligence and trend spotting background are strong points
  • Working knowledge in consumer research approaches and methodologies
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, and report-writing skills
  • Has keen attention to details and is resourceful
  • Can work independently and under pressure
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • With basic knowledge in the use of statistical tools and statistical software
